I didn’t have time to shoot this weekend, my fault since I spent the whole of Saturday in bed, and Sunday hosting people. Which is where this insta favourites comes in. I figured I’d let you in on some of my favourite photos recently, and the thought process behind it. Do you follow me on there by the way? My username is @lizmadowo (click my name to go to my IG, seriously, you know you want to )
Above photo is my latest post, at least by the time this is going up. It was my outfit yesterday, wearing my favourite sneakers, obviously. Lately, I wear sneakers everyday, which is how I realised I have found my style. I’m thinking of doing a whole post on finding your style, tell me below if that’s something you would like to read, pretty please 😍 ?
Outtake from my most recent video where I style this bomber jacket in 5 different ways. Did you watch it? Click the text in bold to watch it or watch it below. This is ideally a date night look, and as I said in the caption, I actually never wear bodycons without something on top. It is also the only bodycon I own is what I didn’t add. I generally am not a fan, if we’re being honest. Even in my more experimental phases of fashion, they’re the one thing I never experimented with.
Thrift Social was such fun, it was like this massive catch up session of all these cool people. The fashion there is never disappointing, ever. These guys are super trendy, but still manage to make the style very much their own, and I’m here for it, all of it. Nyawira, on the left is a Plus Size Fashion Blogger, and Wardrobe Stylist at curveswithstyle.com and Akisa, my baby, is a Fashion Designer whose brand is Wangari Mathenge . Check them both out guys. This jumpsuit also featured in my latest video, showing you that one thing really can be worn in many different ways.
My current favourite sandals from Mr Price. Seriously, these babies are awesome and cost me about 1,000. I bought them originally for theAll White Collaboration, when I realised I didn’t have any white shoes. I can’t wear them now, my nails are a far cry from what you’re seeing here, but I enjoyed them when my pedicure was still fresh.
My friend Jen got married last week on Friday, congratulations darling 🎉 🎊 👰. This was my outfit, which sort of came to me the last minute. I knew I wanted to wear this skirt, I just didn’t know with what. It’s one of my most girly looks recently, and I remember joking to a friend that I clean up well. I do though guys, for real…
Fashion High Tea 2017. I reeeeeaaaaallllllyyyy loved this outfit, also a very last minute choice. I remember looking at it and wondering how on earth it is worn, and who it even fits. The colours, the cut, the fit, were perfect for Fashion High Tea. I actually shot a Get Ready With Me Video for FHT, coming on Friday so keep your eyes peeled for that. The dress is by a Nigerian brand calledRococo
Such fun being with Lisa, middle and Snyder at High Tea. It was the first fashion event we all happened to be at together and I was ecstatic when I heard they’d be there. Friends make life better, seriously…
My favourite post in the last couple of weeks. It’s not a fake laugh, I was genuinely laughing, I have no makeup on, am just being me. This is basically my kind of vibe for the whole year, and lifetime. I try to alternate the days I wear makeup lately, skip a day or two. I think sometimes we forget to let our skin breathe, especially when you work in the fashion industry, where looking “on fleek” is literally the job description. This year, I said to hell with it, and am loving it this far.
Even then, once in a while I still enjoy doing my makeup and taking a million selfies. Because putting on makeup is hard work and naturally, you should appreciate the hard work you put in. By the way, I believe I’ve done the most when I put on eyeshadow.
Thank you for reading, this post turned out to be quite long.
